Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is offering a 21-month apprenticeship opportunity to become a Senior Healthcare Support Worker. You'll gain real-world experience delivering compassionate care in clinical settings, while working towards a Level 3 qualification.

· Deliver personal and clinical care to patients under supervision

· Support with mobility, nutrition, hygiene, and emotional wellbeing

· Take and record patient observations (e.g., temperature, pulse)

· Promote patient dignity, safety, infection control, and privacy

· Undertake learning and assessments toward your Level 3 qualification

· Contribute positively to a supportive, inclusive team environment

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.



We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. Essential:

· 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) including English and Maths

· Experience in health or social care (paid or voluntary)

Desirable:

· Care Certificate – obtained within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust

· Experience in health or social care (paid or voluntary)

· A Levels

What We Offer

· Band 2 equivalent salary of: £23,614 per annum (pro rata)

· 27 days’ annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)

· Fully funded Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship including a Level 3 Diploma in healthcare support

· Regular study time, on-the-job mentoring, and apprenticeship support

· NHS pension, staff discounts, and wellbeing services

· Clear pathways for progression upon completion
