We're currently seeking compassionate, resilient, and CPI-trained Support Workers to join our growing team in Birmingham. You qill be working with adults with mental health challenges and complex behaviours in a supported living setting. If you are someone who can think on their feet, stay calm in challenging situations, and bring a person-centred approach to care, we’d love to hear from you.
Your Role:
As a Support Worker, you will deliver tailored support to individuals with diverse needs. You will empower service users to live as independently as possible while maintaining their dignity and safety. Key duties include:
• Employing proven de-escalation techniques to manage and reduce behaviours that challenge
• Delivering personal care with sensitivity and respect
• Supporting service users with daily living tasks
• Administering medication independently and maintaining accurate records
• Identifying and responding to behavioural triggers in a calm, professional manner
• Providing one-to-one support during lone working shifts, following detailed care plans
• Promoting independence and well-being at every opportunity
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least 3 months’ experience in the UK supporting adults with mental health needs and challenging behaviour
• Current CPI certification, with confidence in applying de-escalation strategies
• Competence in medication administration
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic environments
• Strong communication and record-keeping abilities
• Experience working autonomously, including lone working shifts
• An Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service)
• Eligibility to work in the UK – please note, we do not offer sponsorship
