Support Workers - Farnborough (GU14)
Full and Part-Time positions available
Pay: £12.76 Per Hour

Would you like a role where you can improve the lives and empower the independence of people in Farnborough? Dimensions, an award winning, not-for-profit support organisation, are seeking Support Workers to do just that!

You will be working across 2 homes in close proximity in Farnborough, where we support adults with Learning Dissabilities and Autism. The people we support would like to meet Support Workers who share interests with them and will be happy to support them to do the things they enjoy. These include:

- Trips to the cinema or to local theatres to watch plays

- Going bowling

- Listening to music, especially Meat Loaf, Queen, Michael Jackson, Simply Red to name a few

- Getting involved with music sessions at home

- Trips to the shops to buy clothes and things for their rooms

- Going out for cake and a coffee

- Going out to the seaside for walks along the coast

The people we support want you to know that not all of them use words to communicate but they have different ways of telling you what they want. If you have not had to communicate with people who do not use words before, don't worry, as Dimensions provide all Support Workers with full training. They would also like you to know that they all feel more comfortable using their wheelchairs when they are out.

The role will be a mixture of early (7.30-15.00) and late (14.30-22.00) shifts andyou will need to do 1 sleep-in shift a week (sleep in shifts are paid at an allowance of £50 per shift).

Support Workers will also have to assist with finances, meal preparation and assist the people we support with their personal care.
