The postholder will work as a member of the Trust Infection Prevention and Control Team which includes Infection Prevention and Control Nurses, Microbiologists, Head of Infection Prevention and Control and administration staff to provide advice to all disciplines of staff on Infection Prevention and control policies/procedures and practice. The postholder will be responsible for promoting and developing nursing in the field of Infection Prevention and Control through creating and maintaining a culture of effective healthcare among Trust staff. Daily tasks include surveillance, training, audit and assisting in the management of outbreaks of infection. Ensuring implementation, delivery and evaluation in line with government directives. Deputise for the Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse when necessary. Participate in the provision of a 7 day service. To comply with the Trusts vision, values and behavioural compact. There is an expectation of working across the Primary care and the Social Care sectors within South Tyneside and Sunderland on a rotational basis to develop resilience across all sectors of the team.
