We have have an exciting secondment opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and innovative Consultant Psychological Professional to join ELFT as the Deputy Director of Psychological Professions (PP). You will be based in our Bedfordshire and Luton services and, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead on workforce development and provide strategic leadership, helping to shape services for our local communities.

We are looking for someone with demonstrable and wide-ranging experience of both providing and leading services, consistently demonstrating compassion and co-production. Commitment to new community based patient-centred approaches to improving population health will be key.

The Deputy Director will work with the Director of PP and senior PP colleagues to lead on Trust-wide governance and developing the PP workforce. Recruitment and retention are major challenges and a creative approach to workforce development, including a commitment to diversity and inclusion will be necessary.

As a member of the East of England Regional Psychology Advisory Group and Psychology Professions Network, the Deputy Director will collaborate with regional PP leads in the NHS, HEI and third sector to support workforce planning and development and to maximise the positive contribution of the psychological professions for our communities.

As a full member of the Directorate Management Team in Bedfordshire and Luton, the Deputy Director will help shape a shared vision for services, alongside service users, carers, our workforce, partner organisations and other stakeholders.

The Deputy Director will keep abreast of and contribute to wider system developments in health and social care in the Bedforshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) system, with particular focus on developments where the psychological professions can add value.

The Deputy Director will deputise for the Director of PP as appropriate and necessary.

You will be leading a vibrant team of senior leaders in the psychological professions and joining a committed directorate management team who continue to develop and improve services to our communities, building on our transformation work to deliver the aspirations of the 10 year NHS health plan.
