About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our agency team. As a Senior HCA, you will play a key role in supporting service users with their day-to-day needs, supervising other care staff, and ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered in line with CQC requirements.
This is an agency role, offering flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle. You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including care homes, residential services, supported living, and hospitals.
Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality personal care and support to service users.
• Supervise and support junior care staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Assist with medication administration (in line with training and competency).
• Accurately record and maintain care plans, observations, and reports.
• Promote independence, dignity, and respect for all service users.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed.
• Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and management teams when required.
Requirements
• Minimum 6–12 months recent experience in a senior care role (care home, domiciliary, or hospital setting).
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
• Experience in supervising or mentoring other care staff.
• Competent in record keeping and care planning.
• Confident in medication administration (training provided if needed).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to delivering person-centred care.
