Sessional Female Personal Assistants (2 positions available)

Location: Coatbridge

Hourly Rate: £12.75 (rising to £13.00 after 3 months’ probation period)

Type: Sessional / flexible

We are currently recruiting two sessional Female Personal Assistants to support a friendly, kind and young-at-heart 69-year-old lady living in Coatbridge. She experiences fluctuating mental health and memory issues and is seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to support her wellbeing and independence.

About the Role:

This lady enjoys helping others, staying active in her community, and maintaining her home and personal appearance. Faith and attending Church are also very important to her.

You will help her:

Maintain her identity, confidence and motivation

Feel valued and included in community activities and support groups

Reduce isolation and encourage a positive daily routine

Stay healthy, active and stimulated – including support to go on walks and attend Church

Key Responsibilities:

Personal care and medication prompts.

Meal preparation, shopping and household tasks.

Accompanying to GP, hospital, and other care appointments

Support her to access the local community via public transport

Provide companionship and build a trusting, supportive relationship

Liaising with family and relevant professionals.

Work with a daily budget.

Other duties as deemed necessary by employer.

What We’re Looking For:

A patient, understanding and positive personality

Someone who is chatty, encouraging, and a great listener who can use initiative. Effective communication is essential.

Able to respond gently and consistently to the changeable nature of mental health

Reliable, flexible and committed to making a difference

No experience in care homes required however some experience of providing care, understanding support / care plans is essential.

Life experience, empathy and understanding matter most.

Driving is not essential.

References required.

Example Shift Times (for sickness/holiday/weekend cover):

Sunday: 10:00am – 12:00pm (Mass)
Wednesday: 19:00pm – 21:00pm
Friday: 18:00pm – 20:00pm
Saturday: 15:00pm – 18:00pm
