£36,160 - £36,914 pro rata / £18.74 - £19.13 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

You will work as part of a team to provide a Community Care Alarm Responder service to individuals living in the communities of Orkney. Assisting individuals to remain at home as independently as possible and deliver services, in line with the principles of the Health and Social Care Standards.


Within the Responder service there are two different teams, the Red Team and the Green Team. The Red Team work three shifts including nights and the Green team work two shifts with no nightshift but a midnight finish time. The main difference between them is that the Green Team also helps to provide short-term support to individuals following discharge from hospital and delivery of support to prevent hospital admissions.


You will have the ability to treat people with dignity, respect and compassion and ensure people are included in and supported to make decisions for themselves. You will have good written and verbal communication skills and show a basic understanding of health and safety for yourself and others including risk assessments.


You will hold or achieve within 5 years, an SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 6) in Health and Social Care or other equivalent level qualification accepted by SSSC for registration.


You must hold a Full UK Driving License to be able to drive a car/small van.
