TheTrustisseekinga ConsultantPsychiatristtojointheSouthManchesterHomeBasedTreatmentTeam. The postholder will have an opportunity to contribute to the delivery and development of the team.



The post holder will work alongside a 0.6WTE Consultant colleague.



The team is made up of senior and experienced health care professionals from a range of backgrounds. The team has one Trainee Advanced Practitioner, one Team Manager, three Senior Practitioners, and 18 Mental Health Practitioners from a multi-disciplinary background comprised of Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. There are two Assistant Practitioner and four Support Workers. The team has access to city wide pharmacist support and a clinical psychologist shared with our colleagues in Central Manchester HBT.

· ProvideClinicalleadershipintotheHBTTMDT

· Provide direct clinical care to patients referred to HBTT (assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management)includingtheassessmentandmanagementofrisk.

· Deliverevidence-basedcare

· Becommittedtomultidisciplinarycareandsupporttheteaminorganising thecareofpatients, providing care packages, advising on appropriate interventions

· Provideclinicalleadershipwithinteamsandwithinthecommunityserviceandadultcaregroupgenerally

· Workcloselywithotherteams(andconsultants)includingprimarycare,DrugandAlcoholservices, EIP team, and CMHTs to provide safe care across points of transition as well as with liaison psychiatry teams and inpatient teams and consultants where appropriate.

· Liaisonwithexternalagenciesincludingpolice,probation,socialserviceshousingproviderswhereappropriate

· Workwithcolleaguesinthecommunityservicetoprovideconsultationandliaisonwithgeneral practitioners and other referrers as necessary

· ProvideexpertadviceandinputinrelationtothecareofpatientsrequiringdetentionunderThe Mental Health Act

· UndertakeMentalHealthActassessmentsinconjunctionwithteamcolleagues

· Supervise medicalstudents, juniorandnon-consultantcareergradedoctors,Advanced Clinical Practitioners and non-medical prescriber colleagues
