We welcome applicants from Consultants who have experience in Stroke Medicine, either from a GIM, Stroke or Neurology backgrounds.

Fairfield General Hospital Stroke Service provides hyperacute/acute and rehabilitation to a catchment population of c700,00 and performs in the top 10% of centres according to SSNAP.

You would be joining a team of 7 other consultants supported by a team of speciality doctors, middle grades and juniors.

Fairfield Hospital is located approximately 10 miles from Manchester City Centre. The stroke service is part of the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. If you would like to know more or would like to visit, please contact us.

The post holder will be required to provide in-patient and outpatient stroke care whilst exercising considerable autonomy, while remaining responsible to the clinical lead and responsive to the varying needs of the department and its staff.

Contribute to the provision of acute stroke specialist service delivering thrombolysis and other specialist treatments.

The post holder will provide ongoing clinical support to the community stroke services within the Northern Care Alliance.
