We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our team! Opportunities like this don’t come up very often so if this is something you’ve been looking for with a business that truly cares this could be the role for you!


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the commissioner contracts database, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft, negotiate and finalise key commercial and commissioning contracts.
  • Review supplier contracts and advise on contractual risks and mitigations.
  • Draft termination and escalation letters relating to individual placements and service issues.
  • Review and advise on SLAs, grant agreements and commercial contracts.
  • Coordinate and manage legal technology.
  • Support tender processes and framework agreements, including legal review of tender documentation, bid responses, and framework participation terms.


Skills and Experience

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in contract law and commercial agreement review.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with operational and commercial teams to gather evidence supporting contractual positions or claims, and to provide clear, plain-English advice on legal provisions.
  • Understanding of data protection and its practical implications in contract management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Prior experience working within or alongside an in-house legal team.
  • Experience in health, social care or public sector contracting (NHS or LA) is highly desirable.
