Personal Assistant- Social Care

Description:
Reliable Personal Assistant required to assist with keeping the home safe, nutrition, maintaining the home environment, accessing the community, maintaining relationships and engaging in work or volunteering.

I am an autistic adult with ADHD and severe anxiety, looking for a PA to help with every day tasks and support with independent living skills.

More about me:
I am 36 years old with a small emotional support dog called Bean.
I enjoy knitting, crochet, colouring in, 90s science fiction and dogs.
I want to be able to meet and make new friends, join in with events in my community, and learn to live alone in my own home.

Support will be required ideally on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s 6 hours per day.

Duties include:
Helping with household tasks and assisting me in these tasks
Providing emotional support
Helping with food shopping, and accessing medical appointments
Assisting with accessing the community; social activities, attending coffee mornings or clubs.
Helping with my long term goal of living independently.

The ideal candidate will:
Be supportive, patient and caring
Have experience in a support work or care role
Will understand autism and ADHD and ideally have experience working with autistic people
Be comfortable with calming anxiety and providing reassurance
Be confident working alone with the person you will support
Be open to trying new things
Be resilient, positive and proactive
Have a full driving licence and have access to a car

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK with no criminal background. Post subject to DBS check.
