What does a Home Care Manager do?

As our Home Care Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our services in the Chelmsford area. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Build strong relationships with clients, families, commissioners and community partners.
- Ensuring all care services are delivered to the highest quality and meet CQC standards.
- Conducting client assessments and developing person-centred care plans.
- Managing rotas, recruitment, and staff supervision.
- Promoting a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion within the team
- Handle recruitment, onboarding and training in line with the Care Certificate
- Lead, support and develop care staff; conduct supervisions, appraisals and spot checks

What will you need to do the job?

The ideal candidate will have:

- Proven experience in a managerial role within a domiciliary care or health and social care setting.
- A strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- A passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care.
- The ability to manage and resolve ethical dilemmas while balancing individual rights and duty of care.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, KLOEs, safeguarding and quality governance
- QCF/NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
- Confident with assessments, care planning, risk management and outcome tracking
- Excellent people manager: coaching, communication and problem-solving skills
- IT-literate (care management/rostering/eMAR systems, MS Office/Google)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
