Personal Support Worker

Drivers licence required: Yes

Hours per week:
Bank hours to cover sickness and holiday, to be discussed at interview

Hourly pay rate:
£12.21 per hour

I’m an independent person, but I am looking for someone to help with everyday tasks such accessing the community and to accompany me to social events. I love football and would love someone to take me to matches.

I am not necessarily looking for someone with experience, but its good to have some idea - training will be given.

The role involves personal care tasks, including toileting, assisting me to transfer in/out of my wheelchair and generally helping with things I cannot do independently.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Eating and drinking assistance
- Moving and handling
- Clinical tasks
- Other relevant duties as required
- Administration
- Housekeeping
- Shopping
- Cooking
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Looking after pets
- Gardening
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
