Job Title: Support Worker


Location: Acomb York - YO24


Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour, and sleep in allowance £10.42/h


Shifts: long days + sleeps in, days and waking nights

About the Role


Support work is a highly rewarding role where you assist individuals with mental health and challenging behavior in residential setting, a Support Worker provides specialized care for individuals with complex psychological needs and high-risk behaviors. The role centers on Positive Behavior Support (PBS), which involves identifying triggers to prevent crises and using de-escalation techniques when residents experience acute distress.


Key responsibilities may include:



  • Supporting individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care

  • Promoting independence and helping service users develop life skills

  • Providing emotional support and building positive relationships

  • Assisting with medication management (where required and trained)

  • Supporting individuals to access the community, attend appointments, or participate in social activities

  • Encouraging and enabling service users to achieve personal goals

  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns to the care team

  • Ensuring a safe, respectful, and person-centred environment at all times



Key Requirements



  • Flexibility

  • Minimum 6 months of professional care experience

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Up-to-date CV with full work history
