A little about myself:
I am a young woman with a neurological condition which affects my movement and requires me to use a powered wheelchair. I am also neurodivergent and easily overwhelmed. I have an active social life and love to attend live music and comedy gigs; however, it is difficult for me to get around. I also love to shop, read, and bake when able to.

Driver preferred but not essential

3 hours per week (evenings / weekends)

Essential:
I need you to:
• Be female
• Be a driver
• Be available evenings and weekends
• Be empathetic, patient and a good listener

Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You have a good understanding of Functional Neurological Disorder and neurodivergence 2
• Have good spatial awareness when accompanying in wheelchair
• Have similar taste in music (alternative rock and metal) and comedy

I’d like support with
• Taking me shopping/ for a coffee

I will need my PA to:
• Accompany me to events in my powerchair using public transport
• Push me in a transit chair when car is required, lifting it into the boot and helping me transfer
• Learn to recognise my symptoms and notice when I need support
• Keep me calm when things go wrong
• Communicate effectively, both with me and on my behalf, especially when my speech fails
• Support me while respecting my need for independence

Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
