Senior Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) – Hitchin – £13.35 per hour – Night Shifts



Set in a beautiful Victorian house, this nursing home supports older people, including residents with higher and more complex needs. Night shifts are purposeful, with responsibility for maintaining standards, reassuring residents, and being a steady presence for both the team and the home. This role suits someone who is comfortable leading calmly, notices small changes, and takes pride in well-run, thoughtful care.

  • This role requires a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.

  • Applicants must have experience leading a care team and administering medication.

  • Hourly Rate: £13.35, paid breaks included

  • Hours per week: 36 or 48

  • Shifts: Permanent, night shifts

  • Shift Times: 7:00-7:00

What You’ll Need


Essential



  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care

  • Medication administration training and experience

  • Proven experience working with older adults

  • Experience leading or supervising staff on shift

  • Confidence managing responsibility during night shifts



  • Experience in a nursing home or dementia care setting



What You’ll Do



  • Deliver safe, person-centred care to residents throughout the night

  • Lead and coordinate the night care team

  • Act as the senior point of contact for incidents or clinical concerns

  • Administer medication in line with training and policy

  • Complete accurate care records and night handovers

  • Maintain a calm, safe environment for residents and staff

  • Support and guide junior care staff on shift
