Job Title: Support Worker – Adults with Learning Disabilities
Location: Blackburn and Lancashire
Salary: £13.68
Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities in living fulfilling and independent lives. This role involves providing person-centered care, promoting social inclusion, and supporting individuals in developing life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personalised support tailored to each individual's needs and abilities.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• Encourage and facilitate social engagement, leisure activities, and community participation.
• Support individuals in developing communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and support networks to implement care plans.
• Advocate for individuals' rights and support them in accessing services.
• Promote independence while providing necessary assistance and reassurance.
• Maintain accurate records, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality policies are upheld.
Requirements:
• Experience working with adults with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential).
• Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Learning Disability Support, or related fields.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work within a team and provide person-centered care.
• Understanding of safeguarding, mental health awareness, and positive behavior support techniques.
