- Current Support Worker

About the Role

You'll join a warm, skilled team supporting eight adults (six men and two women) aged 40-60 with a range of complex health needs. Each person brings their own personality, preferences, and communication style — and you'll play a vital part in helping them live joyful, meaningful lives.

You'll support people with:
* Epilepsy
* PEG feeding
* Complex physical needs
* Communication challenges
* Guidance from SALT around feeding and communication approaches

Some people enjoy holding hands, some love music and social interaction, while others prefer calmer spaces. Family involvement is strong, and understanding cultural needs — including dietary requirements for individuals from Muslim backgrounds — is important.

What Will You Be Doing During the Night?

* Providing personal care and mobility support
* Following SALT recommendations for safe feeding and communication
* Administering medication, including PEG feeding and epilepsy protocols
* Encouraging independence, choice and creativity
* Building trusting relationships and recognising individual communication cues
* Conduct regular checks to ensure residents' well-being throughout the night
* Promoting Rest: Provide emotional reassurance to help maintain healthy sleeping patterns
* Documentation: Keep accurate records of activities and any incidents

About You

You'll bring positivity, empathy and a team-focused mindset. You'll be observant, patient, and comfortable supporting people with complex healthcare needs.

We're looking for someone who is:
* Positive, caring and team-oriented
* Creative and musical (bonus if you play an instrument!)
* Observant, patient and culturally aware
* Comfortable driving a large mobility minibus (manual licence essential)

Experience with complex care or Positive Behaviour Support is great, but not essential — full training is provided.

* A competitive pay rate with uplift for overtime you choose to work
* Flexible shift patterns to support your work-life balance
* 30 days paid annual leave (including public holidays - pro rata)
