Floating Support Worker - Community Based

Base: Dalston Junction

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 5:00pm



About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Floating Support Worker to join a busy Floating Support Team providing community-based tenancy sustainment and holistic support to vulnerable adults.

This is a dynamic, field-based role with the majority of time spent conducting face-to-face home visits across the community. When not visiting clients, you will be office-based at our Dalston Junction hub.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an active caseload of 25-28 clients

  • Support clients to set up and sustain tenancies

  • Deliver holistic support covering:

    • Mental health

    • Debt and benefits

    • Daily living skills

    • Safeguarding and risk management



  • Monitor client wellbeing, identify risks, and escalate appropriately

  • Liaise and signpost to external agencies including mental health services, debt advice providers, and other professionals

  • Participate in the team duty rota (approximately one full office-based day every two weeks)

  • Maintain accurate case records and professional boundaries



Location & Travel

  • Office base: Dalston Junction

  • Clients located across Bexley, Croydon, Redbridge, and Hounslow

  • Candidates must be comfortable with regular travel across London


Travel Expenses:

Client visit travel costs are claimable (excluding normal commute to the Dalston office).

Claims must be submitted weekly with journey evidence.



Essential Skills & Experience

✔ Strong hands-on experience in Floating Support or similar community-based roles

✔ Experience supporting tenancy sustainment

✔ Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessment

✔ Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload

✔ Excellent organisational skills and professional boundaries

✔ Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs
