Support Worker - Waking Nights
Pay rate: Monday - Friday Night - £13 per hour, Saturday & Sunday Night - £14 per hour
Shift Pattern:Waking Nights 20:00pm - 08:30am

We've got a rewarding opportunity for the right person to work with an individual living in their family home in Portsmouth.This young man is so much more than his diagnoses, he loves being out and about in the community and he likes to play with his toys on the floor too. This person has oxygen therapy, is PEG fed all his medication, but enjoys eating his meals and snacks, he also has epilepsy. To make the most of trips out and about, we need people who are local to Portsmouth and know the area, and can drive a car, holding a FULL UK Driving Licence.

Enriching activities will be an important factor in your support, and you will bring a wonderfully empathetic approach to truly make a difference to this person’s life. You will also need to bring previous experience with you in the following:

  • Hoisting
  • Epilepsy
  • Oxygen Therapy


What will your shift involve?

In this role, you will be providing high-quality care on a 1:1 basis, ensuring that the individual you support receives compassionate and attentive care tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include engaging with them in meaningful activities and taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being. Additionally, you will support with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment that fosters comfort and independence. Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner will be essential to building a strong and trusting relationship.

We’re looking for people who already have experience in:

  • Complex Care
  • Epilepsy

Just as important is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and build positive, trusting relationships.
