We are currently welcoming applications for a full-time Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to join our developing Dietetic team.


Who are we looking for?
This full-time post is an exciting opportunity for someone who has an interest in mental health and nutrition.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prior experience of working in the mental health and/or social care field, together with health care professionals and interacting with service users and carers is desirable along with a keen interest in nutrition and its importance in health and wellbeing. You will need to be proficient using computers including Microsoft Office software and have experience managing databases and therefore have proficient numeracy skills, along with strong organisational and prioritising skills. This position offers opportunity to further develop these skills and more in a supportive environment.

To work as part of the Inpatient Nutritional support Dietetic Service for The Harbour, supporting the Registered Dietitians without direct supervision, with the provision of prescribed nutritional care to improve oral intake and maximise nutritional status for patients.
The role involves working with patients admitted within Harbour inpatient unit, making assessments using standard assessment tools, monitoring progress, reviewing care plans and making adjustments to the plan under the direction of the Registered Dietitian.


They will also be involved in autonomously supporting input to Weight Management education sessions. The Dietetic Assistant Practitioner will deliver care using all relevant policies, procedures and standards, and work to agreed levels of competency.
