-
Hi! I’m looking for someone kind, reliable, and down to earth to support me in my day to day life. I live at home with my family, and having the right person on my team helps me stay independent and enjoy the things I love. If you enjoy helping others, like being out and about, and appreciate a friendly, family oriented environment, this could be a great fit.

Duties include:
- Other relevant duties as required
- Your support will make a real difference to my daily life. You’ll be helping me with a mix of personal care and practical tasks, things like dressing, showering, shaving, toileting, using the hoist, and getting ready for the day. On my days off from work, you’ll also help prepare lunch and occasionally support my wife with keeping our home running smoothly. I’ll sometimes ask you to come along to activities I enjoy, like gigs, football matches, and family outings.

Candidate qualities:
More than anything, I’m hoping to find someone who fits well into our family’s rhythm. The kind of person who is:
• Responsible, reliable, and good at communicating
• Confident working with disabled people
• Respectful of privacy, dignity, and independence
• Patient, understanding, and aware of the challenges I face
• Able to use their initiative but also happy to learn
• Good humoured and sociable—someone who’s easy to be around
- The role will require a DBS check, which I will fund. We also have a very friendly black pug—so being comfortable with dogs is a must!

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
