Senior Care Assistant

We are seeking experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistants to join a growing residential care team, delivering high-quality, person-centred support.


Position: Senior Care Assistant (Days and Nights Available)
Salary: Up to £29,386 per annum
Location: Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire
Hours: Full time, 07:30 to 20:00 or 19:30 to 08:00 shifts
Contract: Permanent

About the role

This is an opportunity to join a modern, purpose-built residential care home supporting up to 63 residents. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in leading your floor, ensuring high standards of care and supporting both residents and colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading shifts and allocating tasks to care staff

- Overseeing care delivery to ensure safe, high-quality support

- Administering and managing medication

- Supporting residents with personal care, mobility and daily living tasks

- Acting as a Key Worker, maintaining and reviewing care plans and risk assessments

- Liaising with healthcare professionals and internal teams

- Monitoring standards through regular audits and checks

This is a hands-on role where leadership and care delivery go hand in hand.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring both experience and the right values to support residents and work effectively within a team.

You will have:

- At least 1 year's experience in a care setting supporting vulnerable adults

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Confidence in administering medication and leading shifts

- Experience with care plans, risk assessments and person-centred care

- A caring, positive and team-focused approach

- Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

A willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check is required.
