Care Support Worker (Part-Time / Full-Time)

Working Hours:
Flexible – Part-Time / Full-Time
Salary:
£12.71 – £14.44 per hour (depending on experience)

Requirements

Essential


• Caring, compassionate, and respectful approach to supporting individuals
• Ability to maintain dignity, independence, and person-centred care
• Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with service users, families, and professionals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills (clear written English)
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities
• Willingness to undertake training and meet regulatory standards
• Ability to support with personal care, medication support (in line with training), and daily living tasks
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to travel between service users’ homes within the Luton area


Desirable


• NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a care worker or unpaid carer
• Knowledge of safeguarding and recognising abuse
• Understanding of health and safety in a home care environment


The Role

You will provide high-quality care and support to service users in their own homes, promoting independence while maintaining dignity and respect.

Your duties will include:

Personal Care


• Assisting with washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Supporting personal hygiene and use of specialist equipment
• Assisting with medication and prescribed treatments


Domestic Duties


• Supporting daily household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and ironing
• Assisting with general household management


Social Support


• Supporting with shopping, prescriptions, and appointments
• Encouraging participation in social activities and community engagement
• Providing emotional support and signposting to relevant services
• Assisting with finances where required, maintaining accurate records


General Responsibilities


• Maintaining accurate care notes and records
• Responding to emergencies and liaising with relevant services
• Attending training sessions, meetings, and reviews
• Reporting concerns to senior staff and working collaboratively with the care team
