Radiology at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is proud to be recognised as an innovative, progressive and forward‑thinking service. We are committed to shaping a sustainable, skilled and future‑ready workforce. We are now looking for the next key person to join us on this journey.

We are seeking a motivated, passionate and forward‑thinking Lead Clinical Educator to join our award winning team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Diagnostic Radiographer with advanced educational expertise to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of our Radiology Education Strategy.

In this pivotal role, you will take departmental leadership responsibility for all elements of clinical education, supporting a broad spectrum of learners and career pathways including Diagnostic Radiographers, Apprentice Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers and undergraduate students. Working closely with the Radiology Workforce Lead and wider senior team, you will help shape training pipelines, build workforce capacity and ensure high‑quality learning experiences across all modalities.

If you are passionate about developing others, driving workforce transformation and influencing the future of radiography education, we would love to hear from you. Join us and play a central role in building a dynamic and sustainable radiology workforce for the future.

In this role, you will lead the development, coordination and delivery of the Radiology Education Strategy, supporting both current staff and the future workforce across multiple training pathways. You will design, manage and deliver a blended programme of education that aligns with national, regional and local workforce needs, ensuring high‑quality learning experiences for all cohorts of learners.

Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners—including Higher Education Institutions, apprenticeship providers and regional workforce groups—you will build strong networks that enhance training capacity, create advanced practice opportunities and support alternative routes into the profession. A key focus of the role will be developing long‑term training pipelines that promote staff retention, support career progression and ensure the sustainability of radiology services at RWT.

You will provide expert educational leadership underpinned by post graduate qualifications, oversee placement governance, support supervisors and assessors, and contribute to service improvement, workforce transformation and recruitment initiatives across the department.

The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS trusts in the West Midlands providing primary, acute and community services and we are incredibly proud of the diversity of both our staff and the communities we serve. We are building a workforce that can help us to fulfil our values, improve the quality of care for patients, and solve the health care problems of tomorrow. We’re passionate about the value that diversity of thinking and lived experience brings in enabling us to become a learning organisation and leader in delivering compassionate care for our patients.

We are delighted that we have been rated as “Good” by CQC. We have achieved numerous awards; The Nursing Times Best Diversity and Inclusion Practice and Best UK Employer of the Year for Nursing Staff in 2020.

The Trust is a supportive working environment committed to creating flexible working arrangements that suit your needs and as such will consider all requests from applicants who wish to work flexibly.
