Job Description
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and committed Personal Assistant (male or female) to support an adult with learning disabilities to develop independence, maintain daily living skills, and enjoy an active and fulfilling life within the community.

This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term support relationship. Initially, support will focus on getting to know each other, building trust, and establishing routines. As confidence develops, there may be opportunities for increased hours and responsibilities.

The successful applicant will provide support both within the home and out in the community, encouraging independence, confidence, and social inclusion.

Roles and Responsibilities
Support with developing and maintaining independent living skills.
Assist with household tasks and daily chores.
Support meal planning, shopping, and cooking.
Assist with budgeting and managing finances where appropriate.
Encourage participation in social, leisure, and community activities.
Support communication through conversation, messaging, and email where required.
Help plan and organise social activities with family, friends, and support networks.
Promote independence, choice, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.
Build a positive, consistent, and trusting working relationship.

Specific Requirements
Reliable, patient, and trustworthy.
Friendly, approachable, and encouraging.
Flexible in their availability and approach.
A strong communicator with good spoken and written English.
Committed to supporting independence and promoting choice.
Interested in developing a long-term support role.

Understanding of learning disabilities and person-centred support.
Good spoken, written, and reading skills in English.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Positive attitude and willingness to build a meaningful working relationship.
Flexible approach to working hours and activities.

Required Training
Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Support Worker, or Carer.
Full UK driving licence.
Access to your own vehicle.
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities in community settings.
