Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (KO)

Reporting to: Employer

Location: Wednesfield Wolverhampton WV11

Rate of Pay: £14.00 per hour

Nature of the job role: Assisting a 56-year-old Gentleman who is a wheelchair user Cerebral Palsy and is Non-Verbal with all aspects of day-to-day living. My client lives with his Family in Wednesfield and is a very pleasant, sociable individual who has a passion for music.

Main Duties:
Personal duties: Assisting with all personal care; Hoisted on all transfers using a Ceiling hoist, washing, dressing, continence care, monitoring skin integrity on every visit, support with medication support.

Domestic duties: Domestic duties – Laundry, Ironing, Weekly deep clean of bedroom and wet room and all equipment to be deep cleaned. Making meals and drinks – All meals are pureed, and fluids are to be thickened due to my client being a high risk of choking.

Social Duties: Social stimulation – My client attends a Day Centre.

Hours of work: Up to 30 Hours a week – Applicant must be flexible.
Week 1: Wed AM+PM - Thurs AM - Sun AM+PM
Week 2: Wed AM+PM – Thurs PM - Fri AM+PM

AM shifts start at 7am – 09:45/1300.
PM shifts start at 15.15 – 19:00 (weekdays), 16.00-19.00 (weekends)

Qualifications:
Previous Care Experience Essential
Clean driving licence Desirable
Moving and Handling Trained – Must be hoist trained.
Medication Trained

Skills & Experience:
Only applicants who can deliver a high level of care will be considered. You must be reliable, trustworthy and show an aptitude for this type of work with a willingness to show some flexibility in the hours that you work. Some experience of working with people with complex care needs essential.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
