About the Employer

I'm a 39-year-old female with complex health needs including autism, mental health challenges and multiple chronic physical illnesses that impact my physical mobility to varying degrees. I am a Christian woman who is quite creative and artistic, I enjoy music and crochet. I like to keep active within the limitations of my body, I particularly enjoy swimming and cycling. I am looking for a PA to enable me to live in the community as independently as possible and regain my quality of life. Experience of Autism, physical and mental health conditions particularly the burden when things overlap is preferred but not essential. There is flexibility in terms of the days/hours worked and this can be discussed at interview. An induction will be given and training sourced if needs identified. I am looking for someone that has the following qualities: Compassionate, gentle, reliable, friendly, perceptive and able to adapt communication as needed. If you have these qualities and would like to support me to live the best life I can with the challenges I face, then I look forward to hearing from you.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support and/or prompt to attend appointments as necessary, e.g. hospital/doctors.
• Support with food shopping.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with managing paperwork & correspondence.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
