Night Care Assistant



Overview


Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Night Care Assistant / Healthcare Assistant and become a vital part of providing compassionate, high-quality care during overnight hours. In this role, you will support residents or clients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their safety, comfort, and wellbeing throughout the night. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a calm, reassuring environment for those in your care. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a supportive and dynamic team.



Responsibilities:



- Monitor residents' or clients' conditions overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.


- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans.


- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or urgent needs during the night shift.


- Maintain accurate records of care activities, observations, and any incidents using IT systems or paper logs.


- Communicate clearly with day staff, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless continuity of care.


- Support residents' or clients' emotional wellbeing by providing reassurance and companionship during the night.


- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold a safe environment for everyone.



Skills:



- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.


- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care.


- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is highly desirable.


- Knowledge of creating and following care plans tailored to individual needs.


- Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes.


- Excellent observation skills to identify changes in residents' conditions promptly.
