A little about the client:
Employment opportunity as PA for 23 years old who is neurodivergent and lives in Swansea. He is a wonderful, creative, fun-loving and kind person with some impressive skills and abilities. He requires a new team member to continue to help him with communication, to regulate himself, to access the world and to help with his further personal development. In the future, the role may involve taking him out in your car.

Hours of work
Starting hours depend on our timetable compared to your availability with some flexibility. (Starting with 4-10 hours, with increase perhaps after training/ shadowing period.) You MUST be regularly available at some point(s) during the weekend (once the training period is complete).

Rate of pay.
Self-employed PA preferred £ 17.40

Essential:
You must:
• Be dependable, punctual, caring and hard-working
• Have lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of empathy
• Have the ability to be playful (approx at baby/ toddler level)
• Be regularly available for the next 2 years minimum
• Want the absolute best for my son & be fully prepared to help him achieve and grow.
• Exhibit professionalism and positivity in all sessions
• Be able to stay extremely calm in a storm

Desirable:
• have experience with people with more profound autism or learning disabilities.
• have experience with epilepsy
• have experience using Intensive Interaction, DIR/ Floor time, Sunrise or other person-centred approach
• Be a driver (with your own car)

I will need my PA to:
We are looking for a PA to be part of a dedicated, dynamic & highly successful team. There will be a training/ shadowing period for the right person, following which, you must be regularly available to work (times to be arranged), including at the weekend. (You MUST have some regular availability at weekends). You will, ideally, have work or personal experience with someone like my son. The work involves some basic care but mostly you will be interacting with my son in a light-hearted manner (full training given) helping him to learn and develop and stay regulated.

Concerning the position
You will be self-employed and must produce invoices every four weeks. A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
